Customer Review: Bought 3 and all were junk

Primarily on the recommendation of a COOKS magazine article, lulled into not even bothering with reviews, I purchased 3 of these at the same time. 1 for myself and the others as Christmas gifts. I opened one and it was DOA, simply not functioning. I replaced the battery - still DOA. I opened another and it lit up but did not function properly and periodically went blank. when the timer toned it was barely audible. I opened the third, and last, one and it appeared to be OK BUT... when the timer went off, it didn't, it was SILENT!! Wow, I was really surprised!! I had purchased these on an Amazon promotion and the other product was fine. I didn't want to return everything to Amazon so I attempted to deal with Polder customer service. They seemed willing to replace but I ask the CS person to open one and see if it worked. It did not.!! Then CS person allowed as how they were having some problems with the shipment they had recently received from CHINA. I was offered the triple timer as a substitute but the reviews (I read them this time) were not good on that model and I really didn't want triple anyway. Then I ask if I could wait for new shipment and they could not tell me when it would be available. I called back several times over the next year and either could not make contact or was informed that new ones still not available. I eventually threw all three away. As I was disposing of them I discovered that, even with a new battery, NONE worked AT ALL. JUST COMPLETE CHINESE JUNK!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT BUY FROM POLDER - They should be driven out of business!!!! BUY AMERICAN (or anything except CHINESE if you can find it)
